The way you start your day will always affect the rest of it and that’s why it’s very important to have a productive and healthy morning routine. However, if you’re not a morning person and aren’t used to doing much early in the day then these life hacks are for you. They will help you develop a better relationship with mornings and will kickstart your day from the beginning. Let’s go!

Getting some fresh air first thing in the morning can certainly help you wake up quicker and improve your mood. You can simply open your windows and do some calm breathing techniques or even go outside for a simple workout or a quick run. All these things will boost your energy and stabilize your mood. Sleeping with open curtains can also be a great way to wake up without an alarm and get some natural light right away. Try doing this for a week instead of drinking coffee to stay awake and you’ll see the results pretty soon!

During the colder months it’s obviously harder to go outside and there’s not enough sun in the morning so what can you do to make your life less miserable? Drink warm tea or coffee, of course! Try going for caffeine-free varieties though because you don’t want to get addicted, it should be just a refreshing beverage that you drink while eating breakfast or doing some other activities. And there are so many different black, green, white and herbal teas out there so you will surely find something new and original to enjoy each morning. But don’t forget that no drink will replace 6 to 8 hours of sleep that you should ideally get every single day.

Making a breakfast in the morning may seem as yet another chore, especially if you’re not an early riser by nature. So an easy solution for this problem is meal prepping and then either refrigerating or freezing your food so you can have a super quick dish without losing any of the health benefits. Some great options include smoothie packs, egg or tofu scramble, healthy pancake mix or these Quaker oatmeal cookies for people who are always busy. They are also great if you have a huge sweet tooth and love to have dessert-like foods for breakfast.

So to make these cookies just go ahead and beat together butter and white and brown sugar until creamy. Then add eggs one by one and mix in the flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Lastly add raisins or nuts and rolled oats. Bake the cookies for 10 minutes or until they’re golden brown on the edges. Let them cool completely before transferring to a container and storing them in the fridge.

Exercise is crucial for our overall health and many studies have shown that regular physical exercise improves mood stability and quality of life. Getting even 15 minutes of simple yoga or stretching in the morning can help you feel more energized throughout the day. And you don’t need to feel pressured about buying a gym membership because there are so many great videos on YouTube to help you get started on your fitness journey. So stop waiting for the perfect moment and start exercising now! Your body will thank you later.

Sometimes you just don’t want to have anything complicated for your first meal but something comforting and basic. And even cheese omelette is a healthy breakfast if you know how to do it right.

Choose good quality butter or olive oil for frying and add a bunch of fresh or frozen spinach to boost the nutrition value of this dish. You can even go ahead and buy cheese with lower fat content for a totally healthy option.

Overall, I think all of us need to remember that a healthy morning routine is a necessity in our busy and stressful lifestyle. And that no matter what, there are ways to make your mornings more bearable and even enjoyable with only a few simple changes!
